On 26th May 2012 the UK government commenced enforcement of a European Union directive relating to the use of website 'cookies'.
Put simply a cookie is a small file, typically of letters and numbers, downloaded on to a device such as a PC or laptop when the user accesses certain websites. Cookies are useful because they improve your user experience by enabling that website to 'remember' you, either for the duration of your visit (using a 'session cookie') or for repeat visits (using a 'persistent cookie').
If you do not wish to receive cookies from this website you can adjust your browser settings to refuse or screen cookies, you can find instructions on how to configure this within the majority of web browsers and versions at http://www.aboutcookies.org/Default.aspx?page=1.
|ASPSESSIONID||Created when a client visits the site and persists for the duration of the visit. It is used to limit access to sections of the site to only logged in users and is automatically deleted when the client closes their browser session.|

Responsibility for implementing the EU cookie guidance lies with the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
